Roots & Rise Foundation provides programs, resources, and community for women and families in Hernando County who are rebuilding their lives. Housing support, job training, mentorship, and emergency assistance.
Roots & Rise was founded by women who had been through it themselves. The systems meant to help often created more hoops than hope. We built something different: direct, dignified support that treats every person as a whole human, not a case number.
Our team includes social workers, former recipients of our services, job coaches, and community advocates who know Hernando County inside and out. We don't just hand out resources. We build relationships that last.
Emergency shelter referrals, transitional housing assistance, and landlord advocacy for families facing eviction.
Resume building, interview coaching, skills training, and direct employer connections in the community.
Peer mentorship groups led by women who have rebuilt their own lives and want to lift others up.
24/7 phone line, emergency funds for utilities and groceries, and rapid-response case management.
After-school care, summer camps, and family activities that give kids stability while parents rebuild.
Free clinics for custody, divorce, and protective order guidance with vetted local attorneys.
Behind every statistic is a woman who found a safe place to sleep, a mother who landed a job with benefits, a child who got to stay in the same school. We measure our work in outcomes that matter to real people.
Roots & Rise runs on community. Donate, volunteer, mentor, or spread the word. Every contribution — whether it's $20 or twenty hours — goes directly to the women and families we serve.
Whether you need help, want to help, or just want to learn more about what we do, we'd love to hear from you.
